Kenner – Kenner police have released an initial report that details the accusations against 74 year old Dr. Leroy Stagni. Stagni was arrested by Kenner police on Thursday and booked with 1 count of sexual battery. An office assistant at Stagni Chiropractic is accusing him of unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate touching. “She alleged that there were several incidents of inappropriate touching and rubbing up against her,” said Kenner Police Chief Steve Caraway.
According to the report, the inappropriate behavior happened at Stagni Chiropractic in Kenner. The alleged victim tells police it started back in December of 2011. She also tells police she didn’t say anything because she was afraid she would lose her job.
“When it happened a third time she contacted Kenner Police,” said Chief Caraway.
In the police report, the woman alleges Stagni was inappropriate on at least 3 occasions. In one case, the woman alleges Dr. Stagni came up behind her and rubbed her shoulders. She tells police moments later his pants fell to the floor exposing his green and blue boxers.
Leroy Stagni’s son and business partner is Kenner Council Member Joseph Stagni. According to the police report, Joseph Stagni tried to contact the accuser several times before the report was filed. “There were several attempts according to the victim on her cell phone and I believe she witnessed him driving by her house,” said Chief Caraway. According to the Chief, there is nothing in the report that indicates Joseph Stagni did anything wrong.
This isn’t the first time Dr. Leroy Stagni has faced this type of accusation. A case from 2010 is still pending.
