“NOPD’s Narcotics and Task Force Units Investigated 1,497 Complaints, 39 Narcotics Cases and Confiscated 8 Guns in One Week”
In one week, The New Orleans Police Department’s Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated approximately 1,497 complaints. As a result the NOPD’s Task Force Units, they conducted 5 Search Warrants, investigated 37 Felony cases, conducted 348 Vehicle Checks and issued 201 citations. They made 39 Narcotics cases, confiscated 8 guns, and numerous amounts of Crack, Marijuana, Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, and Heroin.
Since July of 2010 Officers have investigated approximately 122,857 complaints, executed approximately 583 Search Warrants, made approximately 3,433 Felony cases, conducted approximately 46,435 vehicle checks, issued approximately 22,341 citations, made approximately 3,192 Narcotics cases, confiscated approximately 847 guns and numerous amounts of Illegal Narcotics.
These results are from January 15, 2012 thru January 21, 2012.
First District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 182 complaints and made 35 cases for 14 Felony, 14 Misdemeanors, and 7 Municipal violations. The units wrote 29 reports and made 137 pedestrian contacts. The units stopped 86 vehicles, wrote 39 citations and made 8 traffic arrests. They conducted 2 Search Warrants and made 12 Narcotic cases confiscating 2 guns, Narcotics and $134.00 in cash.
Second District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 308 complaints and made 36 cases for 3 Felony, 29 Misdemeanors, and 4 Municipal violations. They made 94 pedestrian contacts, 13 field interviews and wrote 34 reports. They made 64 vehicle stops, issued 27 citations and made 6 traffic arrests. They conducted 1 Wanted Check, executed 1 Search Warrant and made 5 Narcotics case confiscating 1 gun, Narcotics and $1,559.00 in cash.
Third District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 205 complaints and had 1 previous complaint. They made 21 cases for 1 Felony 12 Misdemeanors and 8 Municipal violations and issued 19 Summons and had 9 Curfew violators. They made 34 pedestrian contacts, 93 field interviews and wrote 16 reports. They made 86 vehicle stops, issued 62 citations, and made 13 traffic arrests. They made 1 Wanted Check and executed 1 Search Warrant.
Fourth District Narcotics and Task Force investigated 150 complaints and 8 previous complaints and had 2 hot line complaints. They made 83 cases for 9 Felony, 59 Misdemeanor and 15 Municipal violations and issued 1 Summons. They made 45 pedestrian contacts, 41 field interviews and wrote 48 reports. The units stopped 30 vehicles and wrote 29 citations and made 8 traffic arrests. They conducted 3 Wanted Checks and made 13 Narcotics cases confiscating 2 guns, Narcotics and $500.00 in cash.
Fifth District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 186 complaints and 12 previous complaints. They made 46 cases for 28 Misdemeanor and 18 Municipal violations and issued 1 Summons. They made 35 field interviews and wrote 37 reports. The units stopped 25 vehicles, issued 5 citations and made 3 traffic arrests. They made 6 Narcotics cases confiscating Narcotics.
Sixth District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 95 complaints and had 12 previous complaints. They made 22 cases for 5 Felony, 11 Misdemeanor, 6 Municipal violations and issued 1 Summons. They made 33 pedestrian contacts, 7 field interviews and wrote 20 reports. The units stopped 19 vehicles, wrote 6 citations and made 4 traffic arrests. They made 1 Wanted Check and 1 Narcotics case confiscating 2 guns and Narcotics.
Seventh District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 185 complaints and 14 previous complaints. They made 19 cases including 2 juveniles for 4 Felony, 11 Misdemeanor, 4 Municipal and issued 2 Summons and had 1 Truant violator. They made 47 pedestrian contacts, 56 field interviews and wrote 14 reports. The units stopped 20 vehicles, wrote 9 citations and made 3 traffic arrests. They executed 1 Search Warrant, conducted 2 Wanted Checks and confiscating 1 gun.
Eighth District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 186 complaints and made 52 cases for 1 Felony, 27 Misdemeanor, 24 Municipal violations and issued 46 Summons and had 4 Curfew violators. The units stopped 18 vehicles, wrote 18 citations and made 3 traffic arrests. They made 88 pedestrian contacts, 88 field interviews and wrote 30 reports. The units made 2 Narcotics cases confiscating Narcotics.

Any person who, after the commission of a felony, shall harbor, conceal, or aid the offender, knowing or having reasonable ground to believe that he has committed the felony, and with the intent that he may avoid or escape from arrest, trial, conviction, or punishment shall be charged with R.S. 14:25; Relative to Accessories After the Fact.
An accessory after the fact may be tried and punished, notwithstanding the fact that the principal felon may not have been arrested, tried, convicted, or amenable to justice.
Whoever becomes an accessory after the fact shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than five years, or both; provided that in no case shall his punishment be greater than one-half of the maximum provided by law for a principal offender.
