On 03/20 at 0040hrs, Fourth District Officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting at the above location. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim lying faced down, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Victim was pronounced at the scene. On Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at around 1:30 P.M., officers responding to a call of shots fired near the intersection of Lombard Street and Touro Street found a head-on motor vehicle accident at the intersection. Officers found the driver of one of the vehicles suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as 24 year-old Mario Clavo, was transported by paramedics to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Homicide Detectives are actively investigating this case. On Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at around 10:20 A.M., Officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 4200 block of Hollygrove Street found two victims lying in the front yard of a home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims, later identified as 37 year-old Corey Weaver and 25 year-old Nathaniel Allen, respectively, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Homicide Detectives are actively investigating this case. | PURSE SNATCHING SUSPECT |

Recently there has been a number of purse snatching within the Eighth District. Based on the Modus Operandi as well as the general descriptions given by the victims, it is believed these incidents are being committed by the same individual. The perpetrator has committed these robberies between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. He is suspected in robberies ranging from the 300 block of South Rampart Street to the area of Esplanade and Chartres. He was described as follows: Black / Male 25-35 Years of age 5’09” – 5’11”, 150lbs. -165 lbs. Short Hair He has used two different bicycles. One was described as a dark beach cruiser bike. The other was described as a small framed dark colored bicycle. If you have any information on this suspect, please contact Det. Darling at 658-6080. Last night my husband and I were driving home from a golf tournament and on Hwy 90 B just getting in to Westwego by Jake auto salvage, there was a black male laying in the middle of the expressway with 3 females crying & screaming trying to move him. We thought the guy wa dead. My husband runs over there to try to help move the guy (we thought he wa dead)...a car comes barreling through and nearly hits him! Guy was stinking drunk!
