November 17 – Sixth District NONPACC meeting
The Sixth District will hold its monthly NONPACC meeting on November 17 at 6:30pm. The location will be 2020 St Charles Ave, at the Convention and Visitors Bureau. We will not have a NONPACC meeting in December.
November 23 – Sixth District Community Crime Walk
November’s crime walk will be held on Tuesday, 11/23/10 at 5:00pm. We will meet at the location of Jackson Ave and Simon Bolivar.
The route will be as follows:
Meet at Jackson/Simon Bolivar. Walk River Bound on Jackson to Danneel
Right on Danneel and proceed to Felicity
Left on Felicity and back to Simon Bolivar
Simon Bolivar back to Jackson Ave
Come join the members of the Sixth District as we walk the beat in our district to meet our residents and take a stand against crime.
November 25 – Sixth District Comstat Cancelled
Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, the 6th District will not have a district level Comstat meeting on Thursday, November 25.
December 9th – Weekly Comstat Meeting Location Change
The Mahalia Jackson Early Childhood and Learning Center, located at 2405 Jackson Ave, has offered to host our Comstat meeting on December 9th, 2010. The meeting will be at our regular time, 2:00pm.
December 18 – Christmas in the Sixth
The Sixth District will hold its annual “Christmas in the Sixth” event for children in the Sixth District on Dec 18 at 11:00am. This event is designed to provide underprivileged children in our district the opportunity to receive Christmas gifts including a new bicycle, a picture with Santa, and a hot meal. The event is by invitation only. For more information, or to make a donation, contact Officer John Favaloro at 504-658-6127.
December 18 – Race Against Crime
This 5K Run/Walk is a fundraising event for the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation. The NOPD and the Police Foundation have partnered with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl to host this event, which will begin on Fulton Street in Downtown New Orleans. Online registration can be completed at www.nopjf.org A registration form is attached to this blast, and a route map will be posted once available.
