NOPD Homicide Division Investigating Murder in the 4800 Block of
America Street
New Orleans –The New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Division is investigating the shooting death of a 35-year-old male. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. The offense occurred shortly before 8:00 P.M., in the 4500 block of
America Street.
According to investigators, Seventh District officers received a call of a “male shot” and upon arrival, officers located the victim in the 4800 block of
America Street. The victim was lying in a driveway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his body. Emergency medical technicians transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died.
Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) involved in this incident, as well as a motive.
