Suspect Arrested For Murder at Burgundy and Saint Louis Streets

New Orleans- The New Orleans Police Department arrested 21-year-old Donovan Carter, wanted in connection with the murder that occurred this morning, at approximately 6:30 A.M., at Burgundy and Saint Louis Streets.  

According to investigators, Eighth District officers responded to a call of “male shot” and upon their arrival found the victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body. Emergency medical technicians were summoned to the scene, where he was pronounced dead. Eighth and First District officers detained five individuals running from the scene within a short period of time.  Homicide Detectives interviewed these individuals to determine their involvement in the incident.   

During the course of the investigation, Homicide Detective Christopher Harris identified Donovan Carter as the person responsible for the murder.
