Murder Investigation

New Orleans/>, LA/>/> – Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the apparent shooting death of an unidentified male.  The offense occurred at approximately 6:40 A.M., at Burgundy/>/> and Saint Louis Streets.    

According to investigators, Eighth District officers responded to a call of “male shot” and upon their arrival found the victim lying on the sidewalk that had been shot.  Emergency Medical Paramedics were summoned to the scene where the victim was pronounced dead.

Eighth District officers detained five individuals running from the scene.  Homicide Detectives are questioning these individuals to determine their involvement in the incident.    

Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) involved in this incident, as well as a motive.  Homicide Detective Christopher Harris is in charge of the investigation.  Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.
