On Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 at around 9:30 A.M., the victim answered a
knock at the door of her place of employment in the 3200 block of
Gentilly Boulevard, and found an unknown b/m subject inquiring about
whether the business was hiring, to which she replied no, but let him
in to leave his name and number in the event the business hired in the
future. Upon doing so, the subject exited the business, but quickly
returned, grabbed the victim by her throat and struggled with her
while attempting to grab her purse. While the victim and the
perpetrator fought over the purse, she was knocked to the ground and
punched several times in the head and face, causing her to let go of
the purse and the perpetrator to flee from the business. The victim
followed the perpetrator and observed him drive away in a black Toyota
Camry, which she was able to observe the vehicle's license plate.
Responding Officers and Detectives conducting their investigation were
able to identify Eugene Forrest (B/M 07-12-1956) as the perpetrator,
and issued a warrant for his arrest, after being unable to locate him.
