On Saturday, June 19th, 2010 at around 6:40 P.M., the victim, who
works for the Motorist Assistance Patrol, observed a gray Toyota
parked on the side of Interstate 10 East near Louisa Street, with the
vehicle's driver appearing to be passed out. While the victim
approached the front of the stopped vehicle, the victim's co-worker
knocked on the vehicle's window attempting to wake the subject up,
which he did, and proceeded to place his vehicle in gear and strike
the victim in his legs, causing him to hit the hood of the vehicle,
before losing his balance and falling to the ground. The perpetrator
then moved his vehicle forward, striking the victim again. The victim
was able to flag down a passing Harbor Police Officer, who apprehended
the subject, later identified as Michael Tufaro (W/M 07-15-1966), who
was charged in the above-listed offense, as well as for possession of
drug paraphernalia.
