Homicide By Shooting - 06-20-2010

On Sunday, June 20th, 2010 at around 1:00 A.M., Third District
Officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 800 block of
Florida Avenue found a 52 year-old victim, later identified as Fred
Gibbs of Mississippi, lying on the floor inside a railroad locomotive
car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds after an apparent attempted
armed robbery. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.
The perpetrator is described as a b/m subject in his 30's, with a dark
complexion, wearing a polo-type shirt with horizontal stripes.

Homicide Detectives are actively investigating this case.

658-5300. You may also call Crimestoppers anonymously at 822-1111.
