September 14, 2010 New Orleans Police Department – Public Information Office Suspect Wanted For Murder New Orleans, LA -The New Orleans Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect(s) and a vehicle wanted in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old local male. The offense occurred on May 26, 2010, at approximately 7:00 P.M., in the 2400 block of Benton Street. According to investigators, Fifth District officers responded to a call of a "male down" and, upon their arrival found the victim lying in the street suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Emergency medical technicians were summoned to the scene where the victim was pronounced dead. During the course of the follow up investigation, investigators ascertained video surveillance captured prior to the incident occurring. The victim is shown wearing a black t-shirt and jeans entering a black sport utility vehicle at Saint Claude Avenue and Lizardi Street. Shortly thereafter, the victim was found murdered on Benton Street and a black sport utility vehicle was observed fleeing the scene. The vehicle was described as possibly a 2000’s model Chevy Tahoe. A photo of the vehicle was captured on the video surveillance camera. A photo of the vehicle was sent with this release in the form of an attachment. A copy of the video can be picked up by local media outlets from the Juvenile Division at 715 South Broad.
