Aggravated Assault - 09-08-2010

E-mail Print PDF
On Wednesday, September 8th, 2010 at around 11:25 A.M., the victim & his girlfriend had just entered I-10 West at the Chef Menteur Hwy on-ramp when he observed a white Toyota Sequoia pull up next to him and recognized the driver as someone he had a bad business transaction with, who in turn saw him and suddenly accelerated.  As the Sequoia was being driven recklessly, the victim was able to write down its license plate number.  About five minutes later, while the victim was at I-610 West near the Canal Blvd exit, a white Ford F-350 pickup-truck pulled behind him and shot out his vehicle's back window.  The victim stopped & turned his vehicle against traffic, as did the truck's driver, who exited the vehicle shooting.  The victim was able to flee in his vehicle against traffic, exit at Canal Blvd and drive to his home, where he telephoned the police.  Responding Officers located the perpetrator's vehicle, now abandoned, near the intersection of Kenilworth Street and Louis XIV Street; a check of its license plate revealed it to have been reported stolen out of Jefferson Parish.  The perpetrator (shooter) is described as wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, had a black & white bandanna pulled over his face, and was armed with possibly a Glock handgun.
