Incident in the 500 block of Royal Street
New Orleans, the New Orleans Police Department is investigating the death of a 60-year-old local male, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members. The incident occurred today at approximately 12:00 p.m., in the 500 block of
Royal Street.
According to investigators, a friend of the deceased stated that he had not seen him for several days and decided to go visit him. Upon arriving at his apartment he discovered his door closed, but with a foul smell emanating from the apartment. The police was then notified and Eighth District Officers responded to the scene and found the body of the deceased in a state of decomposition. The Chief Coroner Investigator, John Gagliano was summoned to the scene and determined that there was no signs of foul play and that the deceased had died from natural causes several days ago. Several medications were also found on the scene with the deceased’s name on them. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office transported the body to their office.
