NOPD Fifth District Investigative Unit Arrests Suspect for Burglary Moments after the Offense

New Orleans, LA -The New Orleans Police Department’s Fifth District Investigative Unit arrested 41-year-old Nathan Thomas just moments after he committed a burglary.  The offense occurred shortly before 8:00 A.M., in the 1900 block of

Desire Street
.

According to investigators, the victim was inside of his trailer when he heard loud noises coming from his residence next door.  Once the victim went into the residence, he encountered Thomas removing his copper tubing.  When the victim ordered Thomas to stop, Thomas armed himself with wooden board and charged toward the victim.  The victim, who was in great fear of his life, fired his weapon at Thomas, wounding Thomas in the leg.  The victim immediately notified the police. Thomas was placed under arrest for burglary and transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injury.

Upon Thomas being released form the hospital, he will be transported to Central Lock-up and booked accordingly.
