On Tuesday, November 9, 2010 members of the First Distrist Task Force Officers attempted to stop a dark colored Acura. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. As the driver of the vehicle approached the 2500 block of Laharpe Street, he lost control and struck a parked vehicle. Three subjects fled from the vehicle. One subject, a known juvenile dropped a .40 S@W while fleeing from the scene. Another subject, Lester Thomas, front seat passenger, was apprehended. The third subject, driver, managed to cross Broad Street and make good his escape. The juvenile was seated in the rear portion of the vehicle.
The weapon was recovered which was dropped by the juvenile. Officers observed several spent shell casings throughout the vehicle. The officers also recovered a loaded AK 47 sticking upright, between the seats.
