Suspect Arrested For Attempted Murder
New Orleans–Superintendent Ronal W. Serpas announced today that 19-year-old Latrell Coleman, wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a 20-year-old male was arrested by the United StatesMarshallsGeorgia Field Office. The offense occurred on November 1, 2010, at approximately 1:00 A.M., in the 100 block of
Bourbon Street.
According to investigators, Eighth District officers were in the 100 block of
Bourbon Street breaking up a fight, when they heard shots fired within the block. Officers then located the victim lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency medical technicians transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
During the course of the investigation, Eighth District Detectives positively identified Latrell Coleman as the person responsible for the shooting and secured an arrest warrant.
Members of the New OrleansUnited StatesMarshalsGulf South Task Force received information on Coleman’s whereabouts at which time they forwarded the information to the Georgia United States Marshals Field Office. Coleman was arrested on November 3, 2010, at approximately 7:45 P.M., at
2077 Beaver Springs Lane, Norcross, Georgia.
Coleman is currently being held in the Gwinett County Sheriff’s Office jail and will be transferred to Orleans Parish where he will be booked with Attempted Murder.
