SUSPICIOUS PERSON CALL RESULTS IN BURGLARY ARRESTS
On Monday, August 15, 2011, at 12:35 a.m., the Kenner Police Department 9-1-1 Center received a suspicious person complaint from a resident located in the 5200 block of
Toby Lane, Kenner who reported seeing a white male, clad in black clothing, exit a blue colored SUV and began looking into vehicles on Toby Lane.
Kenner Police Officers responded to the area and located a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban, blue in color, driven by Cory Kelly, 23, who provided a home address of
3112 White Street, in Metairie, exiting the area. Upon stopping and interviewing Kelly, he admittedthat he provided transportation to, Justin Robards, 19, of
4333 Avron Boulevard, in Metairie, and Jonathan Mumm, 20, of 2913 David Drive, Metairie, to the area for the sole purpose to commit vehicle burglaries. Officers located and arrested Mumm and Robards at 39th Street and Rebecca Boulevard. Officers were able to locate four unlocked vehicles burglarized in the 5000 and 5100 block of Toby Lane.
Kelly, Robards, and Mumm were charged with 4-counts of simple burglary. Additional arrests are expected in reference to this incident. The group admitted to targeting unlocked vehicles which they rummaged through and removed property. At the time of this press release, Kelly, Robards, and Mumm remain in custody, no bond has been set.
