Local KPD TV show recognized as Outstanding Television Media by Special Olympics Louisiana

KENNER — The Kenner Police Department and K-TV 76 television show, Beyond the Badge, was recently recognized by Special Olympics Louisiana as their Outstanding Television Media Award recipient for 2010.  The show was recognized at the 24th Annual Spirit of Special Olympics Sports Awards Banquet on Saturday, July 9, 2011.  The event was held at the Eldorado Resort and Casino in Shreveport, Louisiana.  The Kenner Police Department joined together with K-TV 76 to produce the monthly television program, which began airing in June of 2007, in order to give viewers an inside look at the KPD and the services the department offers to the community.  Beyond the Badge has always been willing to have Special Olympics Louisiana representatives on air when needed and provides dependable coverage to the organization.

In addition to featuring Special Olympics Louisiana on Beyond the Badge, other segments focus on KPD programs and divisions, various safety topics, local events and community organizations.  Kenner’s Most Wanted is a regular segment on the show that highlights wanted individuals, unsolved homicide cases and updates.

For a schedule of Beyond the Badge and other K-TV 76 show times, please visit the City of Kenner’s website at www.kenner.la.us and click on the K-TV 76 link.  K-TV can be viewed on Cox Cable Jefferson, channel 76 and will soon be available on AT&T U-verse, channel 99.  Previous Beyond the Badge episodes as well as other K-TV shows can be viewed on the K-TV 76 You Tube page at www.youtube.com/ktv76.
