Man arrested for vehicle theft / kidnapping
Kenner-Kenner Police with the assistance of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police (Troop B) has arrested, Delmarcos Rachel, 32, who provided an address on
Sheldon Street, in Metairie.
At approximately 12:22 p.m., the victim parked her vehicle outside the Jefferson Flea Market, located at
2134 Airline Drive, in Kenner. The victim exited her vehicle leaving the vehicle running and her 11 year old daughter inside. While the victim was outside the Flea Market, she saw Rachel enter her vehicle and drive off with the 11-year-old still inside. Rachel drove the vehicle to South Sibley and Sheldon Street, where he abandoned the vehicle with the juvenile.
The Kenner Police Department, Louisiana State Police, and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search and located Rachel at Cumberland & Newton Street, where Rachel was detailed and eventually identified as the perpetrator of the vehicle theft / kidnapping.
Rachel will be charged with the crimes of theft of a motor vehicle and simple kidnapping. At the time of this press release, Rachel remains in custody, no bond has been set.
